I've been looking at this site and these boards for quite a while, but today is the first time I found the >50 board. I was feeling pretty old looking at the other boards!! I'm glad to see I am not the only one >50!!

Hi, I want to welcome you to a great board. I hope you like it here. I read your profile and see that you are "expecting" twin females grands! "Mine", Hannah and Clara, were just born on March 16, 2008, their mother Erin's (my daughter) 30th birthday. These are our first and we are having so much fun with them. WLS has been a miracle for me and I hope it will be for you too. Take care, Karen C

Thank you all so much. This has been such a tumultuous time for me. I left my husband of 32 years just weeks before the surgery. Nothing really happened, I just felt it was time to concentrate on me, and didn't think I would be able to do that at home where the world has always revolved around him.

My health had been poor, diabetes, severe arthritis, bad back and knees...One day, we were getting ready to go somewhere and I said, you know, I need to eat something--I'm diabetic. He said, oh, you're not diabetic like most people!!!!

But now, like most; I don't even take my diabetes meds anymore. With the twins coming this summer, I'm feeling like I can take care of them and even chase them around a little!

Welcome to OFF! You have discovered the most positive, caring place in the OH family! I don't post much, but I'm always lurking... as you continue both your personal and post-surgical journeys, may you even more success be yours!

Congratulations on taking charge of life in a way that has brought you health and from the sound of things happiness too! Welcome to the best of OH too! Hugs, Laureen
